This is a lovely rare sterling silver gilt spoon and fork with enamel inlay to the handles that was made by Anton Michelsen in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1973 to celebrate Julen or Christmas 1973. Each is 6 3/8" long, the fork is 1" across its tines and the spoon is over 1 3/8" across its bowl. They weigh 98.8g - almost 3 1/4 troy oz.
They are in excellent condition, no splits or dents, no dimpling to the bowl and no loss of enamel or gilding. Each has JUL 1973 along with IB SPANG OLSEN to the reverse of the handle. It is hallmarked on the reverse of the stem with the A. Michelsen Copenhagen makers mark, Sterling Denmark, LEGO, 925S showing that it was hallmarked in Denmark in 1973. I have shown the hallmark so that you can make up your own mind. A rare ENAMEL pair in superb condition after over 35 years.
