We bought it from estate sale in Europe, as a piece which came from 1930s. The case made of the metal which is partly silver and has beautiful workmanship all the way around. On the sides there are medallions depicting authentic Greek goddess as an art painter. Under the medallions there are words "Frainier Depose". Signature "Frainier" is also the one medallion on the side as well as on the back medallion. The back medallion is depicting another Greek goddess sitting in front of the table with old papers and scientific supplies, having a big globe behind her and making scientific resource. Word "SCIENCE" is part of the picture on that medallion. The clock has an alarm, which we heard, but we never started the clock itself since we bought it. There are some losses you should be aware of: 2 cracks on the dial - like hair lying from " 11 - 12" to "7" and "from "1" to "5", and on the top of the clock one rear screw is missing and second rear screw has only half of it. Original key comes with the clock. It is located in a rear compartment behind the back of the case, which opens as a door. Behind that door there is a glass (or plastic?), protecting the movement. There are trademark "RENONTOIR 8 JOURS" on the metal under that glass. We bought the clock in that condition, which seems pretty good and never did anything to it. Unfortunately we are mostly jewelry and antique dealers, and not the clock makers. We do have very experienced clock makers who can clean and check the clock, but we are waiting for the customer to decide about it.
